Association between social media use and the acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination among the general population in Saudi Arabia – a cross-sectional study

Researchers conducted a cross-sectional study using a three-part online questionnaire to examine the association between social media use and acceptance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine among the general population in Saudi Arabia. The online questionnaire asked participants about their sociodemographic characteristics, medical and vaccination history, and pattern of social media use. Nearly all of the 500+ participants were acceptant of the vaccine. The researchers suggested further studies to explore the association between social media use and vaccine decisions in order to generalize their observation to the Saudi population, as there was not a significant independent relationship between social media usage and willingness to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.
